BrEAKdown ON The Road
We decided to stop to conduct an engine check as we traveled south from Pittsburgh towards Tennessee. Lucky for us, we did stop because the fuel gauge was stuck and reading half of a tank, when in fact, it was empty. The fuel pump was the victim of this mistake and it has to be replaced. The new pump was shipped from Charleston, West Virginia. In the meantime, we had to get the coach from West Virginia to Tennessee where we could remove the old pump and replace it with the new one. We were able to get fuel to the motor by bypassing the mechanical pump and installing an electronic one. After switching to larger pumps three times, we finally were able to get a 50psi pump installed and managed to drive the coach to my daughter’s house in Knoxville. We coasted down the hills of West Virginia and Virginia at 65mph but climbed them at 40mph. It was quite the experience. Tennessee flattened out and we cruised to my daughter’s house with no issues. After the pump was repaired, we enjoyed spending quality time with family.
